Azerion opened his eyes, still confused about what was happening. Then, his memories came flooding back like a torrent. Rean had suddenly cut his soul out of the array in a single strike, and the pain had been so intense that he had passed out instantly. For a moment, Azerion had genuinely thought that he should have been dead when he woke up, but that didn't seem to be the case. In fact, judging from how clearly he could think and sense his surroundings, he seemed to be very much alive.
"Y-You!" Azerion quickly pushed himself up and pointed at Rean. "Were you trying to kill me?!"
"Hahaha!" Rean laughed out loud. "Death is my brother's department. I lean more toward life, you know? Take a look at your soul first, then we can talk."
Roan didn't even bother retorting to Rean's comments. He simply remained nearby, leaving Azerion to figure things out for himself.
