Winter walked up to him with Mandy and Layla in tow, "Hello, trouble." Jax glanced between all of them, "Not a fan of this vibe." Mandy tossed a curl over her shoulder, "She wants to go to the dungeon. No idea how she even heard of it." Jax gulped guiltily and Layla pointed at him, "This would be how she heard." Jax smiled lopsidedly, tugging on the collar of his shirt "I was just telling her about the different tourist attractions." Winter smiled at their new habit of talking about her like she wasn't there, "If I plan to uncover every secret this place has, then it was inevitable that I would find out about it." Jax breathed a sigh of relief with the attention off of him. "If I'm going to do that, I need to start looking," Winter placed her hands on her hips facing him, "The first thing on my scavenger hunt is trouble. Lucky me, here you are." Jax pointed a finger at his chest in faux surprise, "You know, that nickname is starting to grow on me." Jax leaned on Winter's shoulder, "Mandy and Layla have never been in enough trouble to warrant them a visit to the dungeon." They shared a look and Winter crossed her arms over her chest, "So naturally, as the dungeon expert, I'll need your help." Jax smiled broadly, "Just the words I wanted to hear. What can I do?" Winter surveyed their surroundings, "Just tell me what got you thrown down there." Jax chuckled nervously, "It's not that simple." "What do you mean? Tell me what you were being punished for." Jax scratched the back of his head, "Well, the thing is," He sighed. "I don't know." Winter shut her eyes. Jax shrugged his shoulders, "I figured they just threw me down there whenever they lose patience with my pranks." Mandy placed her head on Winter's shoulder changing the subject, "Isn't Lucas suppose to come today?" Instinctively, Jax looked around, "Yeah. He said he would be here later." Winter kept fiddling with her ring as the bell rang. "Looks like we have to go to class." Winter said, "I'm skipping." Mandy tugged at Jax's arm, "She's going to look for trouble." Jax followed Mandy, glancing behind at Winter as she waved tauntingly. Layla stood between them, "If you need us just call." She shook her phone in her hand.
After everyone had gone to class, Winter strolled through the hallways with her hands in her pockets, keeping her eyes open for anything out of place. She noticed Sam walking to the library and pondered the reason for his fixation with the spot. Winter attempted to melt into her surroundings while following him. After entering the library a heartbeat after Sam, she saw him stalk into one of the rows of bookshelves. Staying hidden, Winter caught the interaction between Sam and a tall boy with dirty blonde hair. She squinted and focused on the boy she didn't recognize, surprised that his eyes were a calm grey. Winter couldn't quite hear the conversation going on between them but based off the tension, it didn't seem like a pleasant one. They seemed close with each other. Oddly close. As though something dark had forged the bond between them, a bond that was now unbreakable. The grey eyed boy scanned the area, suspicious, before resuming his hushed conversation with Sam. Winter took that as a sign that whatever they were talking about was meant to be kept secret, and if they found out she was spying, things would become highly inconvenient for her. She tiptoed out of the library and tied up her hair. It was as though the school was made for her, a playground of secrets and lies.
