Charles had a special regard for Rudy Finn; she was the only one, besides special access exceptions, who could come and go freely at Charles's home.
When she wanted to enter Charles's study, the housekeeper did not stop her, just nodded his head. After she went in, he closed the door again.
Charles was still buried in his work, and even when Rudy Finn walked up to him, he had no reaction.
"Yue Sen, are you busy today?"
Rudy Finn glanced at the document Charles was reviewing, then spoke up, asking him with concern.
Surprised, Charles looked up and met Rudy Finn's smiling face. With a slight upward curl of his lips, he said, "You should have called me in advance. I would have come back earlier."
As he spoke, he put down the documents and pen in his hand, got up from his seat, and led Rudy Finn towards the sofa.
Rudy Finn followed him with a tray in her hands, smiling and shaking her head, "Don't worry, work is important."
