Nothing happened.
Something inside me thought that I might be caught or something might happen as I came back into the capital. I did not believe it would happen, and I hedged my bets, but as we rode back on the wagons, we traded for stolen carriages and wagons. nothing happened. The inspections went well, and I even brought in the Sissy without issues.
No issues whatsoever, and that was even with increased security at the entrance of the Capital city. It was odd. Or was it? I felt weird at this moment, like something was not quite right, but my instincts were not flaring as we rode in on the carriages. I had killed everyone who had seen me or captured them, one of whom was in a crate inside a wagon.
No, it was something close to Paranoia that was gripping me at this moment, and I frowned. It was not until I heard a roar from the Arena, which I still had not visited, that I was shaken from my thoughts. I looked toward the arena, and I saw it.
A silver-haired bunny-kin woman fighting in the air. The Mana rolling off her was more than it should be, and it was clearly still a B-ranker, but her movements were surprisingly swift. No, I watched as she moved again, and my eyes widened as I noticed the movement of mana and the woman disappear. That was not swift, that was INSTANT. That was something I remember in school hearing about as an extremely dangerous, exotic, and rare form of Wizard.
She was a Void Wizard.
Whomever she was fighting must be strong, but the roars of the crowd erupted again, and the sounds of fighting swiftly ended, and I knew the fight was over. That was staggering. That was mind-blowing. The mana coming from that woman was astonishing, and I did not know a Wizard could control that much mana.
She was doing something different. I knew that for a fact. When she broke through somewhere, she did something different from everyone else, giving her a bigger mana pool. I did not know what, but it felt too robust. Too much of it for it to be normal.
My thoughts were captivated, and then I felt something tingling in my head. It was something from years ago. From back when I was in the Adventures school, and some of the social studies we did. Although the Kingdom was not exactly hoping for adventurers to leave the kingdom, they knew they went where the coin was. So when they did, they wanted their adventurers not to be stupid. They wanted them to understand what they might walk into when they went to certain places.
Like the Beast-kin Nation.
It was something about Silver-haired Bunny-kin. I could not remember exactly what it was, but it was important. Which meant that she was important. A rare wizard with a background that was important? That meant I must have seen the Ambassador. Or someone who came with the Ambassador. Nepotism or something like that, which meant that the woman was VERY dangerous. No, extremely dangerous, and I pursed my lips thinking about it.
Would it be good to make a connection with her? Would it be useful?
My mind went through a dozen thoughts as I departed from the Arena toward the Brothel I lived in, and I wondered if I should separate myself from the brothel with a new home. I frowned deep in thought as I rode through the street.
I felt a jolt of the road through the carriage I was sitting on, and I groaned as my ass started to hurt a little. It was annoying, but I shook it off and turned the corner toward the brothel. Before I start thinking about important people like that Silverhaired bunny-kin, I would have to find any news pertaining to what happened while I was gone, and it is time to start solidifying my support base here in the Demon lands.
War was on the horizon with Carl, and I needed to know the damage done to him. Did the shipments stop? His insurance goes up? Without the cargo from the old Necromancer guild, I would find it harder to compete with businesses.
First updates.
Second, solidify my position.
I should call that Medusa a bit for high-level intelligence into the species-based government here, too. It was time to make sure I had a support base of my own for the war and dig a couple of trenches. I would also need soldiers, so Avery was a must, too. I needed a war machine for the coming weeks because I felt it instinctually.
The moment that the Ambassador departs.
War.
