"There is still no need to break the engagement over that." Bai Xifeng said calmly, looking straight into the Emperor's eyes. "I don't mind keeping the title. I will simply ask my father to send out his own intelligence network and military units to search for His Highness, the Third Prince."
"There is absolutely no need to bother General Bai with internal royal matters! The Imperial Household will handle the search ourselves!" The Emperor immediately barked out, rejecting her offer without a second's thought.
The last thing he wanted was Great General Bai's military intelligence poking around the kingdom's borders!
"Well, then let's just keep the engagement as it is." Bai Xifeng concluded smoothly.
The Emperor's face stiffened, his jaw clenching slightly.
"Holding onto an engagement with a missing prince will bring no benefit to your future or your marriage prospects." The Emperor tried to persuade her again, keeping his voice firm.
