Chapter 84 - Get out of there

After another lurid dream, Qiu Baiwei, grimaced upon waking, covering her eyes from the strong morning sunlight glaring down at her through the gap in the window blinds. She could smell her sweat and other fluids that had been stimulated during her dream.

She had dreamed of that man again. Ming Jiu. That insufferable and yet cute and loveable man who had entered her life like a force of nature and then just as suddenly disappeared. She wondered where he had gone and why he had gone without informing her. Didn't he say that he loved her? Was he just a scammer who had wanted to take what he wanted from her body?

It was like the holidays had ended and it was time to wake up and get back to work again.

Every night or every few nights, she couldn't help dreaming of all those days and nights when he had pretty much held her captive in a hotel bed with his charm and skills. How many times had she woken to tell him to get out of there? How many times had she complained, and yet still found him irresistible enough to not do much more than pretend to push him away and then let him have his way with her? His clinginess and sweet stickiness had made her dull world thrum with vibrant colours.

She missed him. Really missed him.

Her heart ached and yawned with a gaping hole that he had once filled with his presence.

Where was he? Was he alright? What happened to him? Would they ever meet again?

Getting up with a groan, Qiu Baiwei got up to have a shower and get ready for work. At work, she and her colleagues grunted morning greetings and got stuck into their neverending piles of work, emerging slightly owl eyed when the lunch monitor woke them from their work zones to make sure they took a break to eat. In the afternoons, they'd get get back stuck into the increasing pile of work tasks, hoping to have at least reduced the mountain somewhat before their manager shook each person out of their work cocoon to make sure they packed up and went home before all public transport stopped for the night.

Qiu Baiwei would return home to a cold and empty house that still had scattered remains of the lover who had entered and exited her life like a mini whirlwind. Come to think of it, he had questioned and badgered and had come to gain an in depth knowledge of her personal life, and yet had not reciprocated. He had always somehow diverted the conversation when she tried to get to know more about him and what he liked or what his family were like.

The reality was that the relationship, while seeming to allow her to be the dominant partner had actually been dominated by him. Now that she thought about of it, she had never actually been able to beat him. All the times she had taken control had been because he had allowed her. If he had wanted to take control, she had discovered that there had been no way to stop him or turn the tables.

Not feeling hungry, Qiu Baiwei washed up and fell into bed, hoping to dream of him again. Hoping, dreaming, waiting for him to return to her and marry her like he had promised.
