"Gosh, you ended up tearing it. It was a gift", Almaria whined, sitting in the kitchen. "I chose it with care, just for you."
"How about you, like, grow up?", said an irritated Lucretia, who shortly after took a sip of coffee.
"You two fight for any reason", said the man who was also sitting at the table. "But in the end, you love each other a ton."
"Shut up, Yalahar." "Shut up, Yalahar!"
Both says in unison to the man, who didn't seem to care about the duo's complaint.
"I'm training to be a rhyming star! That's right! That is my scar! No, wait... You, actually everyone, should appreciate my genius! Of the god of rhyme Yalahar... pure genius!"
While he spoke, the girls just turned their faces away, irritated by his words. An eccentric man with a nasal voice, average height, and dark brown skin.
His yellow eyes were striking, but not more than his cheerful and relaxed posture, combined with off-key jokes that no one found funny.
"You are enemies of humor! Of art! I just wanted to help, but you tear me apart!"
With an exaggerated performance, the mood of the room shifted from irritation to second-hand embarrassment, combined with a kind of compassion mixed with pity.
At that moment, Siegfried entered the kitchen, accompanied by Sylmeria and some children.
"The "King of Useless Knowledge" has arrived. Hail him!"
"Ah... Good morning girls and Yalahar. You are more excited than usual. Did you fall out of bed? And stop calling me like this."
"How can you greet the girls first instead of your best friend? I am just showing my respect to the master."
In that moment, the girls thought: (How annoying!) and (Wasn't he rhyming just a second ago?)
"Am I your friend or master? Wasn't your best friend Brunilda? Now that she got married, you come to bug me?"
The moment he said that, Yalahar threw himself at Siegfried's feet, who seemed embarrassed by the man's performance.
"She abandoned me! I loved her so much! She swapped me for a nobody just because he's handsome, elegant, and has a good job! I gave everything I had!"
The man began to cry, and Siegfried patted his head.
"Oh, be gentle with him. Yalahar is a good guy and always brings us money", said Sylmeria smiling.
"That is just his obligation, since he eats and sleeps here", said Siegfried, pulling the man from his feet and shaking him by the shoulders. "Get up, man! She wasn't even your girlfriend and you never made a move! Now don't complain! Besides that, stop crying in front of girls."
Yalahar stood up and sobbed a little. Almost as if the words were magic, he fell silent for a while as he finished his meal. Smiling, Sylmeria said:
"You are very good at dealing with people, Siegfried."
"Ah, I don't know."
In front of the girls, Yalahar spoke in a low voice and apparently remorseful.
"Forgive me, Miss Wallerian and Miss Halzer. I think I was inconvenient and somewhat annoying to you. But what did you think of my rhyme?"
"It's okay. Just call me Lucretia. And, like, I didn't hear any of your rhyme."
"Your rhyme is terrible. And don't call me by my last name."
Lucretia and Almaria answered. Almaria then got up and went to another room.
"You two are very boring."
Lucretia also stood up and headed out, leaving a complaining Yalahar behind.
(Just Lucretia, right?), the girl thought. (What is the value of a forgotten family name, where the only member is me?)
While the girl thought, Sylmeria called her.
"Lucretia, why don't you go with Siegfried to the cabin in the forest to fetch more firewood and check the fences?"
The girl's eyes sparkled.
