Yue Ling remained kneeling before Lee Shin's tombstone, her fingers resting lightly against the polished stone.
The evening breeze swept gently across the cliffside, carrying the cool scent of the ocean. The white roses she had brought lay neatly at its base.
For a while, she said nothing.
She simply looked at the familiar photograph, letting the memories settle in her heart.
Then she turned.
Lu Tian stood a short distance away, his dark coat moving softly in the wind.
Their eyes met.
He gave her a small, reassuring smile.
Yue Ling extended her hand toward him.
"Tian."
Lu Tian approached immediately.
When he reached her, she smiled through the lingering moisture in her eyes.
"I've introduced you to him before."
She glanced toward the tombstone.
"But I want you to meet him again."
Lu Tian nodded. He lowered himself onto one knee beside her before settling properly on the ground.
For a moment, he studied the photograph engraved into the white stone.
