"A school field trip? So soon?" Violet grabbed a pretzel off my plate without asking. Although I shot her a glare, I, for the most part, didn't care. "Isn't it usually after winter break that the school plans field trips?"
We were al sitting together at our usual lunch table. Violet, Ivy, Luke, Jacob, Alex, and I.
"I hear it's to a mission site." Alex spoke up. "So we can see superheroes at work using their powers. Things like that."
"Midterms are coming up too," Luke chimed in from right besides me. "I would bet it has something to do with that."
"If that's the case," I stretched a little. "Should we try and make sure we stand out?"
"Hm?" Violet glanced and raised a brow in curiosity at me. "How so?"
"Let's just say….im sure we can play the cards to be in our favor!"
The table looked between one another in curiosity to what I meant. However, I only smiled as I felt my master plan could work out perfectly.

"Class! For the duration of this tour, I'm proud to announce that we have our very own S-Class superhero to show us around!"
"W-What? An S-Class hero? This country only has five total!!"
"Who is it, who is it??"
We were all standing in what looked to be the construction site of a large dam or water reservoir. There was rubble and open concrete mixers everywhere, but none of the machinery was in use. The huddle of junior year students from Supernova academy all wore tracking wristbands, in case any danger or difficulty occurred here.
"Excuse me, excuse me! Sorry! Ignore me!" I said from the middle of the crowd.
Butting my way through as quietly as possible, my deep red hair and bright red streaks were pinned back with stylish hair clips behind my ears, the rest left to rile down my shoulders freely.
My green eyes illuminated only when I got to the front of the crowd, waving my hand happily. "Gracelyn!!! You made it! Hi~~" I gave a cheesy warm smile towards my sister.
"…."
"….."
"…."
"…."
Violet, Jacob, Alex, Ivy, and Luke, stood there in shock. As did the rest of the students nearby who overheard what Sara had said.
"T-That's right…class," their powers teacher a young woman who was in her thirties quickly cleared her throat. "W-We are pleased to have Gracelyn Bearens here with us. Guardian of your classmate, Sara Bearens…"
"W-What?!?" Violet and Ivy exclaimed in unison. Their necks hurt from breaking between staring at Sara and then Gracelyn repeatedly.
"S-S-Sara!! You said that Gracelyn was a dancer!" Violet said, completely pale.
I shrugged off her shock. "She is."
Ivy quickly grabbed my arm. "W-What is dancing, Sara?!? Do you know what dancing is?! How can she dance if she's right here in front of us as an S-Class powered superhero!!!"
"Stop yelling stop yelling," I brushed away Ivy's shock too. "Listen. It's like this. Gracelyn was always supposed to go into dancing full time. And she does! But every now and then, she gets called in to go on some missions as a part time S Class power user to help out. Really, is it that big of a deal?"
"A-Ah….all those times we were at your house…playing video games and eating pizza," Violet fell to the floor on her hands and knees, defeated.
"W-We could've been leveling up our magic with Gracelyn….an S-Class power right under our noses…." Ivy copied in suit, equally as depressed.
I huffed, annoyed. "What do you guys mean by that?! You come to my house to hang out with me, not Gracelyn!!"
An imaginary megaphone popped out of nowhere into Violets hand as she glared at me with dramatic tears in her eyes: "forget friendship!! I wanted to get to hang out with an s-class superhero you liar!!"
"Y-You!" I, stunned, could only look between our fellow male friends for help. Except for Luke, Jacob and Alex stepped away.
Alex: I-I can't lie…meeting an S-Class superhero would've been really cool.
Jacob: so, you're step-sister is just an s-class hero….what?
Luke stood still, smiling sheepishly towards me. "H-Hey, guys. Let's not be too unfair here, right?"
Jacob, Alex, Ivy, and Violet stood on the other side, their faces deadpan. "You're just saying that cause your a werewolf. This doesn't affect you in the slightest."
With a sigh, I ruffled her hair.
I was just hoping that having Gracelyn show up would make things easier for them come midterms, whatever the exam might be. Plus, I hadn't intentionally hidden the information at all. They just never asked!
Before I could speak again, someone came over and knocked my forehead, causing me to wince. "Who did-"
The air around the group of students got chilly. I looked up and met eyes with my older sister, Gracelyn. I shivered.
"You called me here to give a quick tour. Why is it that you and your friends are so disruptive to the group?" Gracelyn tone was scary. The powers class professor was stunned by her aura alone!!
Instantly, I stood alone, closest the Gracelyn.
Luke, Jacob, Alex, Ivy, and Violet had backed away several feet. They gave a extreme kowtow bow towards Gracelyn. Speaking in unison. "Forgive us. We're sorry."
With a pout, rubbing my forehead with my hand, I quickly grabbed the arm of her sister. "Sorry, sorry, okay? But please stop! You're scarying everyone! This was supposed to be impressive to them, not scary!"
Gracelyn stared long and hard at me without her expression breaking. Suddenly, the aura around her started to calm.
The teacher, relaxing a bit, could only scratch her head. "T—Then, we shall proceed with the tour, right? Gulp…"
Gracelyn sighed a little with closed eyes, turning around, she returned back to the teachers side. "Let us continue."
"G-Great! Great. Please! Lead the way." The teacher said, even she was a little jumpy!
And so without a hitch the rest of the way, Gracelyn continued to show us around the water dam construction site. As it was revealed, there had been an evil entity here two months ago that appeared, and a couple A-class superhero's were needed to get rid of it. Afterwards, the S-class hero's had to make sure everything was back to normal and place the zone on standby to allow all malicious energy to fade out.
In this world, the darker and more potent the malicious energy was, the greater chances of it creating an evil entity. Evil entities, the longer their resentment sat unchecked, the more powerful and dangerous they could be.
That's why academies like supernova exist. To create the superhero's of tomorrow, be it students with incredible magic ability or special being students like vampires, werewolves, and even fairies. Supernova just so happened to be the best school in our country for superheroes. But, that didn't mean it was the only one.
As we reached the end of the tour, I was a little winded. The route Gracelyn took us through must've been to see exactly how well we could follow her. However…
Violet raised a shaky hand, to which, Gracelyn noticed.
"Yes, Violet?" She answered. Warily, Violet smiled.
"H-Hate to question you at all…but…is there a reason you made us climb up a forest mountain to reach the top of the dam?!?? W-Wouldn't the stairs have sufficed!!?"
The other students mumbled things of not wanting to be bold and ask, but also wondering the same thing. Even I, Gracelyn's sister, couldn't imagine what was going through her head!!
Then again…I rarely did. This woman was a mystery to me too!!
