A sense of weight settled over Isobel.
The ace pilot looked completely different from before.
For far too many months, Isobel spent her time on foot with only a uniform covering her deceptively powerful cybernetic body.
She often felt ill at ease with her reconstructed form.
It was not due to shoddy design and construction. The technology and materials used to shape her new body were top notch. She often had to restrain herself from punching through a table or breaking apart a door due to the abundance of power hidden in her human-sized frame.
The reason why she felt uncomfortable in her new 'skin' was because it reminded her too much of piloting a mech despite the fact that it was nothing of the sort.
The parallels were easy to make. In both cases, Isobel controlled a mostly humanoid mechanical construct.
However, she found these similarities to be superficial.
There were enormous differences between piloting a human-scaled body and a mech-scaled body.
