Callie Elsher has made a career out of being fine. Reyes Devlin has made one out of saying very little. Between them: one ten-year-old who is nobody's fool, a house full of things nobody has said, and approximately one year of two people circling something enormous and calling it nothing. They are both fluent in leaving. They are both, quietly, terrifyingly, learning something else.
